Swarovski Crystal World in Wattens

Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck

The Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck is the highest zoo in Europe (750m) and houses more than 2000 animals from 150 species from the Alpine animal kingdom. What is special about this Alpine zoo is its display of alpine life from both historic times and today. As a “themed zoo”, the ALPINE ZOO is the only one of its kind in the world hosting a complete collection of animals from all over the European Alpine region in its enclosures, aviaries, aquariums and open grounds.

Awaiting you is one of the most carefully maintained Old Towns in Austria, which cultivates a successful symbiosis with modern architectural concepts such as the “Salzlager”, the new UMIT high school or the Parkhotel. The tasteful constructions in the Old Town of Hall are evidence of the towns past prosperity: due to its salt extraction, Hall became the most important economic area in the North of Tyrol.

Today, Hall is a thriving small town full of possibilities: shopping, sightseeing and gastronomy. The lovingly restored Old Town and the area around Burg Hasegg (Hasegg Castle) with the coin tower and connected coin museum cast a spell over visitors from all over the world every year. Cultural highlights such as the Tyrolean Easter Festival, the “Sprachsalz” literature event and the musical event series are well known, far beyond the boundaries of the town.


Schwaz Planetarium

The planetarium in Schwaz offers multimedia-based entertainment and pursues a teaching programme that is fascinating for all ages and those from all walks of life. As opposed to an observatory where the starry sky can be observed directly through a telescope, the star-filled sky is created in a planetarium. The planetarium hosts a children’s programme with fables of the stars and outer space adventures as well as a programme of informative and musical events.

The daily and yearly course of the stars, the movement of the planets and the events which play out above us in the cosmos are shown and explained in the fully air-conditioned Kuppelsaal.


Schloss Tratzberg (Tratzberg Castle) between Jenbach and Schwaz
